    COMMUNICATION - 21/4/26

    Dear All

Please see the communication below in relation to LBR funding and the status of requests for funding. Thank you for your patience as we have awaited updates regarding available education funding.

We are currently unable to approve any further requests for LBR, new or existing, as we await communication from NHS England in relation to available funding for training and continuing professional development.

    • The process of approving Q1 requests was commenced in good faith, anticipating the release of NHSE CPD funds, to supplement the Trust Education budget.
    • It is not currently clear when we will receive information from NHSE in relation to the provision of education funding, and whether the funds will be available through the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) route or only via the ETAP (Education and Training Activity Planning) route.
    • NHSE have stated that any future CPD funding will be capped at a maximum of £1000 per person
    • The ETAP funding process, similarly to last year, will include a set number of courses and programmes. Last year, we received and utilised ETAP funding for Non-Medical Prescribing and PGCert in Practice Education. It has been indicated that the ETAP data collection period should commence soon, so any information and data requests will be distributed when communication from NHSE has been received.
    • If NHSE CPD funding is confirmed, communication will be shared and the LBR process recommenced.

Please share this communication with colleagues. If you have any further queries in relation to the above information, please do contact me.

Q1 APPROVALS ALREADY GIVEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROCESSED.

    Kind regards,

    Jen
