What is Learning Beyond Registration (LBR)?
LBR is the allocation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) monies from NHSE England (NHSE) to support workforce development . This allocation of money needs to be planned and monitored in line with the NHSE Regulations.

Completing the Documentation
Below is a generic template which should be completed in full and sent to the link for your area (DDNT /Operational Lead) via your line manager, to verify the request and submit to LBR bchc.lbr@nhs.net . Please note that any submissions received directly from individuals to bchc.lbr@nhs.net will be returned to the link person for verification and final submission.
This can be used for any additional requests after the initial submissions have been received as a whole on the Divisional templates in January / February 2024.

Please note that funding will only be considered if the process is followed. Any staff that register or enrol on any training/course outside of this process will have to fund the training/course themselves.

PROCESS FOR
PROVIDING PAPERWORK FOR FUNDING TO BE PUT IN PLACE AFTER APPROVAL OF CPD FUNDING HAS BEEN GIVEN - (LBR)
COURSES
Once you have received official notification from your operational lead/line manager that funding for your course has been approved, the following process to provide the correct paperwork to bchc.lbr@nhs.net for the funding to be put in place with the course provider MUST be followed.
1. You are responsible for completing the Course Providers’ booking/application process for the specified course funding has been approved for.
LBR DOES NOT BOOK THE COURSES FOR YOU – BUT PUT THE FUNDING IN PLACE ONLY

Applications:-
- Online – Complete online application/booking and
if possible save a copy/screenshot and email it to bchc.lbr@nhs.net
. If you are unable to save a copy
please send all details (company name, address, contact name and number, email address including finance contact and email address) of the company providing the training, the training
course name and link to the course provider website to LBR email address. This is
required for audit purposes and to ensure all information to put the funding is place is provided. When asked how the course is to be paid for, choose the invoicing option. LBR DO NOT hold a credit or purchasing card, therefore NO payments can be made this way via LBR. See attached required documentation for alternative options.
- If a Purchase Order (PO) has been requested and you cannot complete the booking without it, please send an email to bchc.lbr@nhs.net
along with a copy of the booking form /full details of company supplying
training and course details/or link to the website as stated above. A purchase order can then be raised and
provided to complete the application form and submit to the supplier. This may take a few days to process.
- If any details of the course change, i.e. course provider, cost, date etc which affects the original request for funding you must email bchc.lbr@nhs.net with revised details for re-approval prior to completing the booking process.
- Individuals paying directly for a course IS NOT an advisable method of payment as the only way to be reimbursed is via Expenses.
3.
Confirmations of course booked.
- Any correspondence you receive regarding
your course booking i.e. confirmation of place, offer of place, further
information required, cancellation of course, change of date, change of cost should be forwarded to bchc.lbr@nhs.net
COPIES OF ALL
PAPERWORK IS REQUIRED FOR NHSE AUDIT PURPOSES
Please Note: LBR do not hold a purchasing card to enable online card payments to be made for courses. If this is the only form of payment contact LBR for advice.
